Seminar on Climate Action for Student Leaders at Accra Technical University



As the challenges of climate change continue to escalate, it's imperative that future leaders are equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively address this global crisis. Recognizing this urgent need, Frontline for Climate Action, in collaboration with the Student Parliament of Accra Technical University and sponsored by Pedlo Energy, is excited to announce the upcoming Climate Change Seminar scheduled for May 15th, 2024, at the Accra Technical University Auditorium.


Theme and Objectives:

Under the theme "Equipping Student Leaders with the Science and Skills to Navigate the Climate Crisis and Succeed in a Dynamic Global Landscape," the seminar aims to achieve several crucial objectives such as: Introducing student leaders to the science and impacts of climate change. Exploring the intersection of climate change with the future of work and the roles of student leaders. Building capacity among student leaders to address climate challenges and promote sustainability. Facilitating discussions and collaboration to develop actionable strategies for climate action.

Sessions to be moderated by the Rt. Hon Siba Mariam, Speaker of Accra Technical University Parliament


Keynote Speaker: Peter Godslove Debrah, CEO of Pedlo Energy, speaking on Energy Transition and Equipping Youth for the Future


Hamza Suhini ESQ, CEO of Institute of Climate and Environmental Governance, speaking on Climate Justice


Patricia Odebia Bekoe, Administrative Secretary of 350 Ghana, speaking on Redefining Environmental Governance for Gender Equity


Kwabena Nketia Addae, Executive Director Ghana YMCA, speaking on Opportunities in Climate Change


Cedric Dzelu, Executive Director of Frontline for Climate Action, speaking on Understanding the Science and Impact of Climate Change
